BOOKING TERMS & CONDITIONS
Thank you for taking the time to read the following conditions of Bookings. By proceeding with an online booking via this website you have accepted the following conditions of Bookings:
At the time of publishing, all ferry timetables, fares, accommodation and tour information were correct. However, these can be subject to alteration, sometimes without notice. All services and reservations provided are subject to the conditions of the principal providers and no responsibility is accepted by Trip ehf for misrepresentation, unforeseen omissions or additional costs incurred, including those arising from adverse weather conditions. Refunds may not be available for unused services.
Exchange rate for Krona (ISK)
Please note: it is important to note that many banks around the world are not using the offical currency exchange rate for the Icelandic Krona (ISK). Please see the exchange rate according to the Central Bank of Iceland www.sedlabanki.is
Booking
Trip.is is the online booking site and trading name of Trip ehf. Trip ehf is registered as booking office and is located at Laugavegur 54, 101 Reykjavík, Iceland. Trips are sold by Trip ehf for and on behalf of the organisation, venue, management and/or promoter ('The seller') responsible for the service, event or performance for which it is sold. All complaints or claims are the responsibility of the seller and therfore not Trip ehf. A change in personal circumstances of the purchaser does not entitle the purchaser to return or exchange the ticket. No contract between you and Trip ehf shall come into existence until Trip ehf accepts full payment and issues a confirmation invoice. The person who makes the booking accepts these conditions on behalf of all members of the party and is responsible for all payment due from the party.
Payment & Billing:
To pay for services booked directly at Trip.is you must be a holder of a valid credit card. Your credit card number is required at the time of booking.
If Trip(s) are not available, no charge will be made. You will be notified of the relevant charges prior to issue of a confirmation invoice within 24 hours of booking.
Credit Cards:
To confirm a reservation full payment must be made at the time of booking. Trip accepts Mastercard, Visa, Diners or American Express.
Note: 2% handling fee for Diners and American Express
Cancellation
For all cancellations, Trip ehf will make every effort to ensure the best protection for the customer. However, late cancellation can result in compensation claims from hotels and other service partners. All cancellations must be in writing, and sent to Trip ehf by letter or e-mail. Trip ehf is obliged to charge customers cancellation fees at a percentage of the full price, as follows:
Notice of Cancellation*
More than 2 weeks prior date of voucher: 20%
Less than 2 weeks prior date of voucher: 50%
Less than 72 hours prior date of voucher: 100%
*Domestic flights and day tours that include flights, are stricter than normal cancellation rules so Trip ehf cannot refund any flight.
Voucher Delivery
Invoice and vouchers will be handed over on arrival or sent to the customer by email.
Liability
Trip ehf works as an booking office only and therefore disclaims responsibility for any loss, damage, accident, injury, sickness or schedule change due to weather, strike or any other cause beyond Trip ehf control. Trip ehf acts in good faith, and cannot be held responsible for any agent, hotel, coach operator, airline, guide, restaurant or any other person's or companies' acts, defaults or delays. Trip ehf reserves the right in behave of operators to alter routes, itineraries or departure times, without prior notice, should the necessity arise. We therefore advise all clients to check their travel insurance to meet all unexpected cost.
If you are dissatisfied in any way with your stay in Iceland, you must advise Trip ehf by writing us within 30 days of your return. Otherwise no compensation may be considered.
