The Wonders of Snæfellsnes - RE17

18.500,-

For the nature lovers this is a "must do" tour.
Lush valleys and lava fields with soft moss, abundant bird life, diverse flora, craters and salmon rivers characterize this part of Iceland.

This area has captured the imagination of people all over the world, ever since Jules Verne wrote "The Journey to the Center of the Earth". The Famous Snæfellsjökull glacier (1446 meters) is where the "journey" begins and ends at the Stromboli volcano in Italy.

A short walk will be made from the huge stone structure called Bárður Snæfellsás, who was a shaman/viking who sensed the energy of the glacier.

We continue to the beautiful beach at Djúpalónssandur, where we take a short walk. On the way we pass Gatklettur, an interestingly shaped cliff.

En route; an unforgettable stop at Bjarnarhöfn, where the old national delicacy "cured shark" is prepared for consumption.
