An exhilarating rush through some of Icelands most spectacular whitewater, deep in the magnificent gorges of the East Glacial River canyon. An action-packed adventure guaranteed to keep your face wet and your heart pumping!
Like all of our tours, this one kicks off at our base in Varmahlíð, where you will meet your guides and safety kayakers and get briefed as to the game plan for the day. After getting fitted for all necessary equipment, we take you for an hours drive up into the Austurdalur valley and go over relevent instruction and thorough safety guidelines. Then let the adventure begin, as you commit yourself to imposing grandeur of the East River gorge, taking on such rapids as "The Lost", "Screaming Lady", "Green Room", and "Deep Fry". Keep your buzz alive and celebrate your achievements with an 8m cliff jump (conditions permitting) immediately following the last of the rivers major rapids. Then cap off the thrill ride by paddling the final stretch of the East and out into the calmer waters of the Héraðsvötn River, where you will have one last chance to bathe in the invigorating purity of Icelandic glacial water!
PLEASE NOTICE: This tour does not offer pick up, it is located in the north of Iceland. Cottages is at the spot located 1 km from the rafting. The cottages are with magnificent views. Excellent choice if you have rental car!
